Balancing on a Knife Edge

Written after spending time with a close friend. We did nothing really, but they helped me, even through basically nothing. After that, I wrote this poem.

Balancing on a knife edge,
Don’t know how long I can do this,
Don’t know when or what may happen.

Close friends, you keep me there, keep me safe, keep me happy and happy to continue, make me feel warm, make me feel safe. With you, I know I can go on. I want to go on.

But I’m still balancing on a knife edge, will go on, for as long as I can. As Thomas Dylan wrote, “Do not go into that silent night, rage, rage into the darkness of the light”.
