Missing Something

I’m missing something,

Cannot put my finger on it.

Like a lost part of me.

What is it?

How’d I lose it?

Where?

A complex emptiness,

That I am trying to discern.

Trying to uncover.

Missing the feelings,

Locked them away and then thrown away the key.

For my own safety.

I am missing something.

I miss the feeling,

The good, bad and ugly.

Now just replaced with a cold emptiness.

A cold constriction.

Living for these small moments of joy.

To forget.

To forget.

That I am missing something
