Alien World

This alien world of feeling,

An alien world of being.

The sights, scenes and smells,

All familiar yet also foreign.

People all around,

Yet also alone.

These unknown figures,

Preoccupied by their own worlds.

The times to wait and watch,

As time moves on.

Sat here I trace the shift.

Watch the fade.

Miss the end.

This alien world I find myself in.

The blank stares.

The empty shell.

The the dichotomies of the unfamiliar familiarity.

The whole world changed before me.

Rendered alien.

Dropped into the unknown.

Into this alien world I find myself.

People unfamiliar,

Places alien to me,

My own feelings incomprehensible.

Day by day I’ll continue, in this alien world.
